Sold some SU! Retired stuff...
and got MORE SU! stuff... I'm trying something new this catalog (okay, new to me). I'm trying to only get stuff from the new catalog from my birthday money/family/friends, or from selling my retired stuff (can't get new until you make more SPACE), or from my SU! business (this one is the hard part - I'm hardly ever the hostess). Anyway, I did have a workshop last week AND with all the retired sets I've been selling (thank you everyone), I got to place another order for more new stuff. You know what I "had" to order (it's my #1 embellishment for classes so I "had" to get it)? ALL of the new ribbon... I somehow slept during the retirement accessories list (actually we were in the middle of sabbatical so who thinks about anything then?)... I didn't realize that so many of my ribbons were retiring. I think 2/3 of my order was just ribbon. Then I got a couple of other things... Here's my new loot:
See ALL of that ribbon? It's so pretty... And the pretties kit. I'll have to say I had to get Garden Whimsy because of Jenn... and well, the Baroque background (still, not my style) because of Debbie Olson. These "big wig" stampers are costing me a lot! Sheesh!
Oh... and the room reorg. continues...

Mod Podge vs. Me
This post is about one of those projects that I've been working on forever. Well, forever... I started them a month ago.
I made a bunch of color combiner books with my new Bind-it-All. I made these for some dear friends of mine. What's a color combiner book, you ask? Well, it's a little bound flip book that you can match up different colors to see if they go together. This is made with all the SU! 48 colors, some of the neutrals, and the new 2008 In Colors. Jenn made me a rubicoil version when I signed under her a couple of years ago. I use that thing almost daily. Well, that's because I'm COLOR Challenged... I can never pick colors that go together - except purples :).
Things I learned:
CS: White covers from paper supply; Pink Polka dot paper from Making Memories (thanks Evalyn - this is from your scraps!), Inside cardstock all SU!
Ink: SU! Pink Passion
Ribbon: May Arts Hot Pink Grosgrain
One project down.... a zillion more to go. :)

Things I learned:
- I HATE MOD PODGE. I knew this going in but still tried it and failed miserably. And then left the project for a couple of weeks because I was disgusted.
- I DON'T like making covers. Part of this is the mod podge thing but then I switched to mono glue (not tape) and it, too, was sticky and yucky. So, basically I scrapped (as in TRASHED) all of those covers - YUCK.
- Use simple, nice, semi-glossy white chipboard for the covers. Then stamp whatever on them... and only have to decorate one side. I have a TON of this cardstock that I got at a Paper Supply store a couple of years ago. It's very nice.
- Bind-it-all is very easy to use.

Stampin' Up! Retired Sets for sale
Wondering where I've been? Multi-tasking at it's finest.... you know how that works, LOTS of stuff going on but nothing near completion or completed! I have way too many projects and things going on.
Anyway, I've cleaned OUT (not to be confused with cleaned UP - LOL) my stamp room. I've pulled all the retired Stampin' Up! sets that I want to get rid of.
Please let me know if you're interested. Prices do not include shipping. They are all mounted except the Expressive Flexible Phrases, which is New, Unmounted. All come from a smoke-free house. Let me know if you are interested! Thanks so much.

SU! In Colors 2008 - Sharon Harnist's comparisons!
Are you ready for the new Stampin' Up! catalog? I am. It comes out July 1st. Hopefully, I'll get my hands on some catalogs before then to share with my customers. A friend of mine over on Splitcoast, Sharon Harnist (StamperSharon on SCS), has the best color comparisons on her blog for the new Stampin' Up In Colors. Check it out and let me know what's your new favorite In Color. I think I'm going to like Sky Blue and Purely Pomegranate. Okay, and Wild Wasabi. Sharon is also giving away a BUNCH of stuff for leaving her a comment on what your favorite new color is. Just leave a comment here, no strings attached. How cool is she? I've always admired Sharon's work and I got to meet her at the first North Texas SCS Gathering back in 2005. Such a sweetie! Thanks Sharon for sharing your artwork and for posting the comparison guide for the new In Colors!

Fonts that match Stampin' Up! sentiments
Hey, ever wondered or needed to know what font a particular stamp is so that you can match the inside of your card (if you print it out from the computer.... like the details to an invitation or something)? Well, here's an interesting thread from Splitcoast:
